Door Supervisors Course - What Will You Learn When Taking A Door Supervisors Course?

Door supervisors course – Have you recently booked one? Maybe you are thinking about doing so? If so, you will no doubt be wondering what sort of things you are going to be learning when you take the course. It is always best to be prepared and do a bit of research.

You will get a detailed introduction to what it is like to be a door supervisor and work in the private security industry in general. You will be taught about conflict management and physical intervention skills. A large part of your job will be to stop any trouble from arising or getting out of hand in the first place. However, if verbal communication fails, you need to know what to do in such a situation, which is why the physical intervention module is of paramount importance. When you take this form of SIA training, you will receive full details regarding what you should and shouldn’t be doing on the job. An important part of a door supervisor course is learning about the different rules and regulations that are in place and how they are applicable to your role as a doorman. This includes the likes of fire safety and basic first aid. Once you have completed your course, you will then need to pass the assessment, which consists of four multiple-choice exams and a practical assessment. Prior to August 2010, the assessment simply involved the multiple-choice exams. However, the SIA felt that this was not enough to determine someone’s suitability. There is an upskilling course available for those who acquired their licence before 2010.
